The Kelvinator croaked

Here's our new dishwasher...isn't it pretty?...sitting in the middle of the kitchen...not hooked up.

Our old dishwasher finally croaked (the Kelvinator was a dinosaur), so we ordered a new one. I've been washing dishes by hand for a week (I'm not complaining, just informing), until yesterday we finally picked up the new one and got the Kelvinator out from under the counter only to find...

LEAKAGE! The Kelvinator had apparently been leaking for quite some time. The particle board underneath was soaked completely through. The light is there to act as a heat source to speed up the drying process. The subfloor came up in little pieces...like it was just wet mulch laying there. The floor you see here is the actual floor boards. So, the Kelvinator is in the city dump and the GE is in the middle of the kitchen while the hole dries out. Good thing we did this now...it could have been a catastrophe down the road.

So, I'm still washing dishes by hand.

And A has a fun new toy to share with his buddy J! A HOUSE, of course. He had lunch in there today. Now there's greasy little grilled cheese fingerprints all over the nice cardboard floor. We just can't have nice things.

We had the same thing happen to us! We used a fan to speed up the process, worked great. It's all worth it in the end.
What's so fascinating about playing in boxes! My kids like to do the same thing.

Well did you ever get that dishwasher hooked up. Let's see a picture of that.
