Look who's in the big girl bed!

We decided a few weeks ago it was time to put Tiny E in a big girl bed. She's not so tiny anymore...not that she ever was! She has now graduated from her crib. Last night I found her yelling, in the middle of the bed, stuck under the covers. A muffled "uck, uck!" was coming from the rumpled blankets. And a few nights I've found her stuck in the crack next to the wall, yelling in the middle of the night. Hey!...she's learning! Here's the cutie pie nestled in...

We went to get a mattress for Elle's big girl bed a few weeks ago and came home with a table. We'd been looking for a counter height kitchen table with storage below. This one was exactly what we were looking for except for the leather chairs. We didn't think of ourselves as leather chair people; now that we are, we walk differently, we talk differently, and we need to find some new friends...just kidding old friends. Despite the leather chairs, it was priced too good to pass up.They threw the bench in free! (just to sweeten the floor model deal)

Christmas Tree Hunting 2010

We went on our annual Christmas Tree hunt the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Even though Todd thought it was too early, I talked him into it. It was a gorgeous day for it. Temperature was in the 40s in the Hills. We had to hike up a hill a little ways, but had a lot of fun and found some great trees (Grammy and Grandpa went along). Here are some photos of the day.

Asher had a snowball fight with Grammy...
Elle had just spotted "Ah-ya" (Asher) coming out of the woods and let everyone know it...Grandpa accidentally hit Asher right in the face with a snowball! Asher was offended; he eventually got over it.
And later in the day...we decorated the tree. The kids really had a good time with it.And Elle kept licking the ornaments. ?????????Here's Todd trying to be all Norman Rockwell or something...

New toe

One of my toes (the left one that had roast beef) has new skin on it thanks to a pre-cancerous mole and the skin graft that followed its removal. Here's a picture in case you're curious.

New bed

A great way to get your kid excited about going to bed... is getting them a new bed! For several days after we got him this loft, he was so excited to go to bed. The novelty has worn off and he's back to his old stall-tactics now, but he does still love his bed. He has a small room, so has a lot more space now since his desk and some toys fit under there.He spends a lot of time at his desk writing speeches, poems, rules for his room, etc.
Tiny E loves his bed too.

Not related to the bed...this is the orchid Todd got me for my birthday (8/7) and it is STILL blooming! So lovely!
